A Season of Connection & A Year of Possibility

Letter from the President

December 2025 | Charlotte AMA

Dear AMA Charlotte community,

As we step into December — a month wrapped in reflection, celebration, and anticipation — I find myself thinking about the small moments that make our community feel so special. This is the season when our calendars fill quickly, our to-do lists grow long, and yet, somehow, it becomes even more important to pause and reconnect with the people who energize us. For me, that’s all of you.

This month, we intentionally kept our programming light and meaningful, offering space to slow down before we all leap into a brand-new year. On Wednesday, December 3, we’re hosting Start Your Day With AMA at Indigo Tea & Coffee Co from 8:30–9:30 AM. It’s a cozy, easy way to spend your morning — warm drinks, real conversation, and a laid-back atmosphere that reminds us that professional development doesn’t always need a slide deck.

In place of our traditional Lunch & Learn this month, we’re planning a low-key roundtable: a relaxed space to share ideas, talk shop, and reflect on what we’re carrying into 2026. Think of this roundtable as a softer landing into the end of the year — light refreshments, open conversation, and connection over competition. Sometimes, the most valuable insights come from sitting around a table with people who get what you do and why you love it. It will be hosted in SouthPark, so you can transition effortlessly into holiday at the mall across the street right after. We’ll share details on our events page and across our social channels, soon.

To make your holiday season a little brighter, we’ve also partnered with Minted — use the code FUNDRAISECAMA for 20% off your purchase, and Minted will donate 10% to support future AMA Charlotte programming and events.

As we look ahead, we’re already laying the foundations for an even more intentional and community-centered 2026. To make that happen, we’re growing. We currently have several open roles on our board and committees, including a Treasurer-Elect, VP of DEI, and roles on our programming and communications committees. If you’ve ever felt the pull to get more involved, this is the perfect moment. Whether you’re curious, committed, or somewhere in between, we’d love to share more about what leadership could look like for you. Reach out anytime at engagement@charlotteama.com — we’re excited to welcome new voices and perspectives into our team.

December invites us to wind down, but it also sparks something new — a sense of possibility. As marketers, we spend so much time planning ahead that it’s easy to overlook the progress we’ve already made. So before the year closes, I hope you’ll take a moment to celebrate what you’ve learned, built, and overcome. You’ve earned it.

Thank you for being a part of this community — for showing up, sharing your ideas, and helping us cultivate a chapter rooted in authenticity, connection, and purpose. I’m grateful for every one of you, and I can’t wait to step into the new year together.

Wishing you rest, joy, and a bright start to 2026.

With gratitude,

Lily Commander
