Digital Marketing Account Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

The role of the digital marketing specialist is critical in conveying performance and strategy goals to the client. The marketing specialist is the link between key stakeholders both within the client’s organization and the operations team, coordinating all activities necessary to execute on the strategy. This involves building the digital strategy based on the client’s goals and being able to clearly communicate each piece of the process within the strategy.

Key Responsibility - Internal Process Management:

Importantly, the marketing specialist is also the first point of communication from the client, and must make smart decisions on which client requests require action and which require more communication. The marketing specialist should always follow up with the client to gain as much insight as possible into the request and only allocate resources on projects that require it.

Key Responsibility - Strategy Implementation:

At the same time, the marketing specialist’s role is also to own the implementation of the digital strategy, be looking for areas of improvement and being as proactive as possible in executing on each task. This means keeping tasks focused on the strategy and avoiding distracting or non-strategic projects or discussions with the client.

  • Provide timely and accurate reporting to the key stakeholders within the client’s organization, including weekly strategy meetings to provide project and performance updates.

  • Understanding each stakeholder‘s personality, as well as their goals and be able to navigate the different levels of each client’s organization to achieve stakeholder buy-in as needed.

  • Build and provide updates to real-time client reporting through Databox, DataStudio or other real-time analytics. Customize reporting to client’s goals as needed and be proactive in sharing reporting insights.

  • Work with the operations team to execute on digital strategy and provide client feedback in a timely and actionable manner.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years client management experience, preferably in an agency setting. The more experience, the better.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in effective communication of strategic goals or business plans.

  • Experience working with a variety of marketing performance metrics. Hubspot, Google Analytics and/or DataStudio experience preferred.

  • Have excellent task management skills including the use of project management systems to provide accountability and updates to internal stakeholders.

  • Experience with Asana, Trello, or other PMS is preferred.
