It is with immense gratitude and excitement that I step into the role of President of the Charlotte Chapter of the American Marketing Association. AMA Charlotte has long been a space where marketers connect, grow, and thrive—and I’m deeply honored to help lead our chapter into its next chapter.
Before I share a bit about what’s ahead, I want to take a moment to thank those who brought us here. To Megan Shields, our now Immediate Past President—thank you. Your heart, time, and dedication to AMA Charlotte are the very foundation we’re continuing to build on. You’ve led with passion, clarity, and care, and I am incredibly grateful for your partnership in this transition.
To all of the past presidents and board members—thank you for shaping the vibrant, engaged, and resilient organization we’re proud to be part of today. Your service has left a legacy we will honor as we move forward.
As we kick off a new fiscal year, I could not be more excited for what’s ahead. Over the next few months, we’ll be introducing our 2025 board members—an inspiring group of volunteers committed to building community and delivering value. We’ve already hit the ground running, and I’m confident you’ll feel their energy and drive throughout the year.
So, what can you expect from AMA Charlotte this year?
🎯 A focus on growth – We’re working to expand our membership base and ensure that every marketer in Charlotte knows there’s a place for them here.
🤝 Deeper company engagement – From sponsorships to group memberships to posting on our job board, we’re creating more opportunities for companies to plug into the AMA community.
🎟️ Stronger, more meaningful events – Our chapter events are where real relationships begin. We’re committed to hosting experiences that spark connection, creativity, and belonging.
Most of all, I want every member to feel seen, valued, and energized by their AMA experience. Whether you’ve been part of the chapter for years or are just joining us for the first time—I want you to know you belong here.
I can’t wait to connect with each of you, learn from your stories, and help shape an organization that truly reflects the best of who we are as marketers—and as people.
Here’s to a year of big ideas, bold moves, and deeper connections.
Warmly,
Lily Commander
President, AMA Charlotte
