The Marketing Events Manager will be responsible for planning and executing external third-party conference participation, Navigant hosted events, and global marketing programs that support the firm’s business and revenue goals within the Energy practice. Reporting to the Energy Marketing Director, this person will lead and/or support a variety of external and internal programs including global client events, conferences, marketing collateral, website content, thought leadership, industry memberships and partnerships, and ROI gathering, tracking, and reporting. Critical to the role are professional services firm experience and a proven track record in management, project management, and marketing. The successful candidate will be an experienced marketer, a power project manager, proactive, self-motivated and capable of owning and managing multiple priorities and staff in a fast-paced environment. The ideal professional should be detail oriented, quality focused, have a love for marketing and event management that generates ROI, provide outstanding customer service, and be an enthusiastic team player. Energy industry experience is a plus. This individual must be able to work independently, manage others, and take ownership of various marketing initiatives and operations.
This key partner to Sales will help deliver marketing plans that drive client awareness and help in increasing sales effectiveness. Working closely with Corporate Marketing and Product resources, the Field Marketing Specialist proactively partners with local sales leaders to assess the competitive landscape to implement a successful local marketing plan. This team member plays a key role in facilitating communication and implementation of important initiatives and strategies internally and externally.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the planning and execution of events including, but not limited to negotiating sponsorships, branding and communication, attendee management, food and beverage, audiovisual, and meeting space management. Prepare event nametags, materials, gift bags, registration lists, invitations, etc. as required
Act as point of contact with practice teams and provide on-site meeting management as needed
Collect, track, and report ROI for memberships, events, and other marketing programs
Manage project related expenses, including tracking spending and processing invoices
Manage third party vendor relationships and industry association memberships
Manage content updates on the firm’s internal and external websites
Develop, execute, and support practice marketing programs that drive sales and revenue generation for the Energy practice in addition to events
Elevate event operations to strategic market development initiatives with focus on enabling relationship development and sales opportunities for the segment.
Aggressively gather information on each event to achieve quality production.
Conduct research and find resources to help make decisions about event possibilities.
Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field required
Eight to ten years progressive marketing and communications experience, specifically managing client events required
Professional services, consulting industry experience required
Management experience required
Energy industry experience strongly preferred
Outstanding writing skills, strong communication skills, with an emphasis on editing and proof reading, experience interacting with senior levels of management required
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage a wide range of concurrent activities with limited supervision
Very responsive with superior customer service capabilities including the ability to serve a wide range of needs within the organization and at all levels with high expectations for quality
The ability to work effectively under pressure, make decisions independently, and manage/lead staff
Experience working with remote teams across geographies and time zones
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint, Excel, and Dynamics
Experience with Sitecore content management, SharePoint, and Google Analytics
Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously
Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently
Plan, direct, and coordinate work activities of others
Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively
Generally works in an office environment
